For just about four years now (yes, I was late to the Kaskade movement), I have developed a small love (some may call an obsession) with a certain DJ and for some reason all I want to do is let everyone know why! When I like something, it’s usually for good reason and I just can’t shut up about it or stop spreading the word… it’s like I want everyone to enjoy it with me.

For instance, I love sending people new songs, telling them to go see a movie or read a good book… but… there is something better about being in a car with someone and introducing them to new music and seeing them dance along. Or when you watch a movie you love with someone and they LOL or cry it was so great… it’s such a great feeling. Or when you chat about a book you both read and swap different lessons you learned from it. Sharing is caring people =)

So, if you are dying to know why I adore Kaskade so much… check it out:

- Phenomenal DJ, Producer and Writer - Seriously he is more than this triple threat. Once you get to know more about his history, accomplishments and love for his work, you will easily see why he is so good at what he does. The beats, the music, the lyrics… all had me in the beginning, then to dive deeper into Kaskade as an artist just really had me in awe. 

I really can’t find a better quote than in his interview with Marquee in Vegas: 

For Kaskade, it’s all about love.

“It’s that simple,” says the California-based producer, songwriter and DJ. “And from that love comes the music,” he says, finishing his thought with a mischievous smile, as if to say, yes, when there’s love involved, for Kaskade, it really is that easy.

- Dedicated - Proclaims he never had a “Plan B” when it came to his profession and on behalf of all Kaskade fans, Thank Heavens! Just proves he knew his talent and wanted to work as hard as he could to achieve his goals! Started as a hobby in school, owned and operated a music store, worked his way into an A&R assistant and then from there took off… Yes, you can read all about his history online but I am telling you, follow this man currently and really listen to him beyond the music!  

- In it for the right reasons: for the love of music! - So a lot of people think DJs are just party people due to their lifestyle (ahem, no help there Madonna) but that is not always the case. Kaskade rises above the rest and is not easily influenced by the “lifestyle.” You won’t find Kaskade drinking, gettin’ into trouble, runnin’ around - unless he is dancing, with his family or rockin’ out with his fans in a true, honest and healthy way. He truly is a model for what a gentleman with a family and love of his business and drive partnered with passion really should resemble. 

- Loves his fans - He is constantly in communication with his fans via Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, YouTube, Ustream, etc. Giveaways, special info, learning his fans names, taking fan advice, etc. It really shows dedication to your fans when you take the time to recognize them, thank them and bond with them. Social media makes this more possible than ever but he takes it a step further and if you meet him in person, he will appreciate you and thank you. 

- Best live show EVER - I am going to say I have been to almost 1,000 live shows in my lifetime and this experience blows any of them out of the water. I have been to a range as well, dance, acoustic, jam band, rap, RnB, rock… and yes it’s a lot to say it exceeds all of those experiences (I even got to spin with one of my favorite DJs Mr. Hahn of Linkin Park) but Kaskade truly blows everyone’s mind. I challenge you to go to a show and I DARE YOU not to move. 

- His Music. - It makes you move, think, smile, feel, wonder, hope, love and appreciate. It makes you happy. Also, with mashups and remixes, he truly has introduced me to some great music I normally may have not come across. The lyrics alone are transcendent. 

P.S. Kaskade has been getting much recognition over the last year due to the boom of EDM but also because he stands out from the general DJ. I love that he is getting the recognition he deserves and that others are experiencing him for themselves but I do admit… I hope he doesn’t blow up so much that I don’t get to see him in smaller venues every now and then!
